Folisid® Forte is a food supplement with micro-encapsulated pyrophosphate Iron (SunActive® Fe), Folic Acid, Vitamin C and Copper, indicated in cases of reduced dietary intake or increased need of these nutrients. Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin. Folic Acid contributes to normal hemopoiesis and to the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy. In women of childbearing age, the supplementary consumption of Folic acid increases maternal folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the foetus. Copper contributes to normal Iron transportation across the body and Vitamin C increases Iron absorption. By virtue of its components, this product is indicated for dietary integration during pregnancy. Folisid® Forte is a food supplement useful even in cases where Iron supplementation is needed for long periods of time, following medical advice.

Food supplements are not intended as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Do not take in case of proven hypersensitivity to one or more components of this product. The beneficial effect on the increase of the maternal folate status is obtained with a supplementary daily consumption of 400 mcg of Folic acid from at least one month before and up to three months after conception. The development of neural tube defects in the foetus is due to several risk factors; the intervention on one of these factors may or may not have the indicated beneficial effect. Keep out of the reach of children under 3 years of age. Store in a dry and cool place; do not expose to direct sunlight and heat sources.
